PowerPath and Risk Management

Mon, 04 August, 2025

Key project risks are considered in light of their likelihood, impact and mitigation actions. Risk manager, Mohammad Ashadul Hoquel from Technovative Solutions will review the risk register regularly throughout the project duration and enact mitigation measures.

In the event of COVID or a similar pandemic outbreak, the consortium or the demonstrators are unlikely to be impacted as they have already established remote working routines and have experienced teams equipped to deliver work independently.

Key technical risks include not meeting the full range of at-scale test conditions for validation due to the testing requirements not being fully defined or due to difficulties in accessing the field for deployment. The previous experience of consortium partners in the IMPHORAA project – development of photovoltaics for rural communities in the Philippines and Madagascar – and the involvement of an end-user in the project will enable effective communication to set the requirements appropriately. To further mitigate this, clarifications and logistics have been set at the beginning of the project.

Key managerial risks include problems with integrating the demonstrators into living communities while maintaining timely output, which could cause delays in the project. To mitigate this risk, the site and the demonstrator will be planned in advance, with provision for fast connection during planned outages.

Key commercial risks include competition potentially copying the model, caused by detailed technical data being leaked to competitors. Confidentiality agreements are already put in place and partners will continue to protect existing Intellectual Property (IP). In a case of agreement breach, legal advice and action will be sought.
