Oliva Solomanjary – CFO of Nanoé

Oliva Solomanjary is trained in management and specialised in marketing and international trade.

Oliva acted as secretary accountant for the UNICOSA project – Union des Communes du Sambirano, a unionisation of towns of the Sambirano region to deliver different projects in infrastructure, resources, etc – from 2009 to 2016 and then commercial administrative and financial manager at Nanoé from 2017 to 2022, before being promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2023. Oliva’s professional experience allowed her to evolve in multiple companies, mainly in accounting and finance.

Today, Oliva is proud to have contributed to the PowerPath project for decentralised rural electrification, an initiative that will profoundly transform rural areas in Madagascar.

What are your areas of interest?

My career path has led me to practise in different companies, where I refined my skills in analytical accounting, financial management, budgeting and reporting.

I am passionate about socioeconomic development and I am particularly interested in impact initiatives such as decentralised rural electrification. Today, I am fully involved in this sector and also have interests in innovation, female leadership, and rural community empowerment via sustainable entrepreneurship.

Why did you join the PowerPath project?

Our company joined the project to take an active part in the development of rural and isolated areas, by providing electricity access. We were facing important challenges linked to unequal energy access and the research of sustainable solutions. This project has allowed us to address these challenges by offering innovative alternatives, which are adapted to local needs. Meanwhile, we are reinforcing our engagement for an inclusive energy transition.

Our vision is to create a real and sustainable impact by providing, not only electricity, but also socioeconomic development opportunities. This approach will contribute to the success and durability of the project.

How do you hope you will benefit from participating in the project and its outcomes?

We wish that the project reinforces our expertise, credibility and visibility in the rural electrification field. It is also an opportunity to develop new partnerships and consolidate our role in the energy transition.

Lastly, we hope that beneficiary communities see tangible improvements in their living conditions. This will make the project a model for other rural areas.

We would like that this project reinforces our expertise in rural electrification and our presence with national and international partners. The project allows us to contribute to the energy transition and to sustainable development in Madagascar while offering economic opportunities to rural communities. This project has the potential to become a model for local sustainable solutions while highlighting social and technological innovation for inclusive and fair development.
