Powerpath’s Technical Risks

Tue, 03 March, 2026

A primary risk of the PowerPath project is the reliability and authenticity of data collected remotely. This is caused by the taking of poor measurements and complex data transmission, resulting in possible reductions in data reliability and data loss. One of the mitigations in place is the calibration performed considering material and operational conditions. A low energy wireless technology like LoRa is being used for the data transmission and a cloud platform is used for storage and processing into business intelligence.

Another potential technical risk is the delayed pilot deployment caused by problems with importing due to administration delays in custom clearance in Madagascar. This can impact project timescales. The mitigation in place is that partners take into account customs inefficiencies and provision equipment dispatching earlier than usual.

A third possible risk is the difficulty in interconnecting electronic and mechanical modules, caused by missing initial requirements affecting technology deployment. To mitigate this, the routings of the board, robustness and ergonomics of the casing are being reviewed in the first stage of the project to improve the integration of all sub-components, allowing for feedback and modifications at an early stage.
